About Foodgeeks

Foodgeeks was first founded by Ryan Snyder in 1999 after he grew tired of flipping through cookbooks looking for recipes. Shortly after he saw the first internet microwave prototype from NCR, he decided it was time to put the site into action. Barb Myers serves as the Foodgeeks editor, and is responsible for bringing seasonal foods to life, both through home page features and throughout the site.

Foodgeeks is currently host to 10,000 recipes, which have been contributed by passionate foodies since the site's inception. We encourage you to submit your favorite recipes, and also to rate the recipes you make and taste, so your friends and the Foodgeeks community will easily find the best recipes to please their palates.

Ryan teamed up with wine aficionado Sunny Brown in 2004 to help create Winegeeks. Winegeeks helps educate others about the world of wine, and allows wine lovers to rate and review the wines they taste.

Beer writer Lucy Burningham began working with Ryan to launch Beergeeks, which saw its debut in September 2010. Like Winegeeks, Beergeeks helps educate others about the world of beer, and allows beer lovers to rate and review the beers they taste.

The goal for each of these sites is to allow friends to explore each of the 3 gastronomical worlds together. We know that friends have a great understanding of each others' palates, and can help each other find and try new foods, beers and wines. We'll be rolling out features over the next year that can help friends better explore these worlds together.
